    Weekend notebook: difficult race in Super GT in Malaysia

    It was the third round of the Super GT Japan championship, back after years away from the country with a race on the track at Sepang, Malaysia. It was a difficult race for the two Ferrari 296 GT3s, which finished in 13th and 14th place.

    Super GT Japan. The Malaysian circuit of Sepang is back on the Japanese Super GT calendar after several years, hosting the third round of the season. The best of the Ferrari 296 GT3s in the race was the number 6 car of UNI-ROBO Bluegrass, winner of the previous round, which finished 13th with Roberto Merhi Muntan and Yoshiaki Katayama one lap behind the leader, after starting from 12th on the grid. Right behind them was car number 45 from Ponos Racing, driven by Kei Cozzolino and Takuro Shinohara, which finished 14th.

    The next Super GT Japan event is scheduled for the weekend of 2-3 August at the Fuji Speedway track in Japan.
