At the 6 Hours of Glen, which counts as the sixth round of the IMSA SportsCar Championship and the third of the IMSA Michelin Endurance Cup, seven Ferrari 296 GT3s will be competing with six Ferrari factory drivers, all fresh from last weekend's 24 Hours of Le Mans (won by the number 83 Ferrari 499P): Alessandro Pier Guidi, James Calado, Antonio Fuoco, Davide Rigon, Daniel Serra and Lilou Wadoux.
In the GTD Pro class, DragonSpeed returns with the No. 81 Ferrari 296 GT3 for Albert Costa and Ferrari factory driver Davide Rigon. Costa placed second earlier this season at Raceway Laguna Seca, and the team also earned class poles at Sebring International Raceway (Costa) and Laguna Seca (Giacomo Altoe). A year ago, Costa finished second at The Glen for Conquest Racing, charging from fourth to second in the closing laps during a race marked by significant and rapid swings in the weather.
Five teams are entered in the GTD category for Pro-Am lineups, including two cars for Triarsi Competizione.
Owner/driver Onofrio Triarsi will join factory pilot James Calado – who finished third on this year’s Hypercar podium at Le Mans – and Andrew Waite in the No. 023 Ferrari 296 GT3 of Central Florida / David SW. In the No. 021 JG Wentworth Ferrari 296 GT3, the trio of Sheena Monk, Stevan McAleer and Mike Skeen return behind the wheel in Triarsi’s second car.
Manny Franco – second at The Glen for Conquest Racing with Costa last year – and factory driver Daniel Serra join Ben Tuck in the No. 34 Corsa Horizon 296 GT3. Serra and Tuck are both coming off top-10 finishes in the LMGT3 class at Le Mans, while Franco and Serra took third at Laguna Seca earlier this year.
Serra also has a two-year, pole-winning streak at The Glen in GTD Pro, setting the class’s track record last year for Risi Competizione with a lap of one minute, 44.203 seconds.
The No. 70 Inception Racing entry will be driven by Brendan Iribe, Frederik Schandorff and Ollie Millroy. The team finished fourth at Sebring earlier this season.
Completing the Ferrari lineup are two teams running in the five Endurance Cup events. AF Corse will field the No. 21 296 GT3 for Ferrari factory drivers Lilou Wadoux and Alessandro Pier Guidi, joined by Simon Mann. Both Pier Guidi and Mann landed on the Le Mans podium in the Hypercar and LMGT3 classes, respectively, while Wadoux narrowly missed out on a top-10 finish in the historic endurance race herself.
Lastly, Cetilar Racing will run the blue No. 47 Ferrari for Lorenzo Patrese, Giorgio Sernagiotto and factory driver Antonio Fuoco.
Ferrari has four overall triumphs at Six Hours of The Glen, an event dating back to 1968. Mario Andretti and Jacky Ickx scored a dramatic victory in 1972 sharing a Ferrari 312P, while Gianpiero Moretti’s Momo 333SP won in 1994, 1996 and 1998. Bill Auberlen was a class winner in 2003 in a Ferrari 360GT. Niki Lauda (1975), Carlos Reutemann (1978) and Gilles Villeneuve (1979) were Formula One winners for Ferrari at Watkins Glen.
The Six Hours of The Glen weekend opens with a 90-minute practice session on Friday, June 20 at 11:25 a.m. (all times ET). Saturday includes a second 90-minute practice at 9 a.m., followed by GTD qualifying at 2:20 p.m. and GTD Pro qualifying at 2:45 p.m. The six-hour race begins at 12:10 p.m. on Sunday, June 22.
The race will be televised live on NBC Network from noon to 3 p.m. The entire event will stream live on Peacock, in addition to the IMSA YouTube channel for international viewers, and broadcast on SiriusXM Channel 206.
