A long-time contender in the GT World Challenge Europe, Ziggo Sport Tempesta won the Bronze class title in 2024, securing a spot on the grid for this year’s 24 Hours of Le Mans. A trio of drivers who have raced together for several years will take the wheel of the British team’s Ferrari 296 LMGT3: Jonathan Hui, Christopher Froggatt, and Eddie Cheever III.
The team. The origins of Tempesta Racing can be traced back to a Ferrari test session, where Christopher Froggatt first met Eddie Cheever III. From 2017 onwards, the team competed in the European Ferrari Challenge series before moving up to the GT World Challenge Europe Endurance Cup and GT Open in 2019. It has since become a standout presence in the SRO series, claiming multiple titles in both Sprint and Endurance formats in 2020, 2021 and 2024 – all at the wheel of a Ferrari.
Number 193 crew.Tempesta Racing is built on the partnership between British driver Christopher Froggatt and Italian racer Eddie Cheever III, who has been Froggatt’s coach since 2017. Hong Kong-based gentleman driver Jonathan Hui completes the line-up, having raced with the team since 2019.
Christopher Froggatt began his driving career in 2017 with the Ferrari Challenge, claiming the Trofeo Pirelli Am title in 2018, finishing over 130 points clear of the runner-up. After moving to the GT World Challenge Europe, he secured multiple titles: the Sprint Pro-Am class in 2020, the Endurance Pro-Am in 2021, and the Endurance Bronze Cup in 2024. This year marks his debut at the 24 Hours of Le Mans.
Eddie Cheever III is an Italo-American professional driver and the son of former Formula 1 racer Eddie Cheever. Following a successful early career in single-seaters, he transitioned to GT racing, winning the Italian Championship in 2016 among other achievements. With Tempesta Racing and Chris Froggatt, he took the Sprint Pro-Am class title in 2020, and in 2024 claimed the Sprint, Endurance, and overall titles. The 2025 edition will mark his third appearance at the 24 Hours of Le Mans – all with Ferrari – following consecutive entries in LMGTE Am in 2018 and 2019.
The third member of the crew is Hong Kong driver Jonathan Hui, an experienced gentleman racer who has been part of Tempesta Racing since 2019. He won the Pro-Am class title in the GT World Challenge Europe Endurance Cup in 2021 before achieving a clean sweep of all three titles in 2024 alongside Eddie Cheever. The 2025 race marks his debut at the Circuit de la Sarthe.
