Voices from the podium of race 2 at Le Castellet
The Ferrari Challenge UK Trofeo Pirelli held Race 2 at the “Paul Ricard” circuit in Le Castellet, in southern France. Near the podium, the top drivers from the two classes - Trofeo Pirelli and Coppa Shell - commented on their performances behind the wheel of the Ferrari Challenge 296.
Bradley Yates (Charles Hurst), winner in Trofeo Pirelli:
Joseph Dean (Stratstone Colchester), second in Trofeo Pirelli: “Wow, first podium in Ferrari Challenge! I was fortunate enough to get a podium over the winter. To be honest, I owe all the success I’ve had this year to doing that (experience). I learnt so much with my coach. Onto the next one!”.
Manuela Gostner (Ineco), third in Trofeo Pirelli: “I started off calmly today; the drivers ahead of me made things difficult for themselves, so I made a pass and, with a bit of luck, secured another podium finish. I’m very happy with this first weekend in the Challenge Uk. My team put together a fantastic car. Two podiums isn’t bad at all; I can’t wait to race at Snetterton”.
Christopher Beighton (Graypaul Nottingham), winner in Coppa Shell:
Ian Morris (Maranello Sales), second in Coppa Shell: “It was good! My first ever challenge weekend and I’m happy to finish on the podium. So super excited and super happy! Yesterday was a bit disappointing with a mechanical issue, but today it all came through – great”.
Darren Howell (JTC600 Leeds), third in Coppa Shell: “A good, hard race. Tyres were getting worn out and I was sliding about a lot, but a good race and good fun! It’s a good, but difficult track – hard work”.
