Weekend notebook: class wins and podiums at Road America

Wisconsin 17 August 2025

Round five of the GT World Challenge America took place at Road America in Wisconsin, where AF Corse USA entered two Ferrari 296 GT3s that secured two class wins and a podium finish during the weekend’s races.

GT World Challenge America. Two incredible races, the first greatly impacted by unpredictable weather, marked the fifth round of the series. AF Corse USA’s two Ferrari 296 GT3s finished the weekend with a Pro-Am podium and an impressive double victory in the Am class.

Christian and Marcelo Hahn, in the number 16 car, finished third in Pro-Am in Race-1, which was cut short due to worsening weather. They followed this strong performance with a sixth-place finish in Sunday’s race.

The second AF Corse USA entry, the number 163 crewed by Jay Schreibman and Oswaldo Negri Jr., dominated the Am class. With no rivals to challenge them, they took the top spot on the podium in both races.

“We have a really great car, a fantastic team, and we were able to keep pace with the group for most of the race, creating a big gap behind us,” explained Oswaldo Negri. “It was the best race I’ve ever seen from Jay. It means so much to me. I love this series and we want to keep racing here in the right way, with integrity,” he added.

“Yesterday was an interesting day, and today went much better,” said Jay Schreibman. “It was a much more comfortable drive, although still demanding. I’m incredibly grateful to my teammate, who is turning me into a real racing driver, and we are having so much fun.”

The next round of the series will take place from 5 to 7 September at Barber Motorsports Park, on the eastern outskirts of Birmingham near Leeds, Alabama.
