The two Vista AF Corse Ferrari 296 GT3s will line up fourth and eleventh on the grid for the 6 Hours of Imola. Round two of the 2025 FIA World Endurance Championship takes place on Sunday, 20 April in the Emilia-Romagna city. Car number 21 delivered a strong performance across all three sessions. Bronze-rated driver François Heriau set the second-fastest time in the opening qualifying run before handing over to Silver-rated Simon Mann, who was fourth fastest in the Hyperpole.
Car number 54 missed out on a place in Hyperpole by just 41 thousandths of a second. It will start from the eleventh, with Davide Rigon, Francesco Castellacci and Thomas Flohr behind the wheel.
Simon Mann, 296 LMGT3 #21: ”Francois Heriau did well in the first qualifying session, and the Hyperpole didn’t go badly. I think fourth is a good starting position for tomorrow’s race, which will be long and complex, and changing weather could play a part. Being in the leading group is definitely a plus. The car feels competitive and well-balanced. I’m very satisfied and confident.”
Thomas Flohr – Ferrari 296 LMGT3 #54 “It’s a shame because we only just missed out on the Hyperpole. In any case, it will be a long race, and the gaps are very tight. Basically, all the cars are within a second. On a narrow track like Imola, we’re in for an exciting race.”
