A historic Swiss team with long-standing ties to the world of Ferrari, Kessel Racing returns to the 24 Hours of Le Mans after a year’s absence, fielding a 296 LMGT3 with a crew featuring two stars of the European Le Mans Series: Takeshi Kimura and Prancing Horse official driver Daniel Serra, alongside British racer Casper Stevenson.
The team. Kessel Group was founded in Switzerland in 1971 by former racing driver Loris Kessel, who also competed in Formula 1. Today, his son Ronnie leads the team, which focuses primarily on GT racing. The 2025 edition marks Kessel Racing’s fifth appearance at the 24 Hours of Le Mans.
Number 57 crew.The partnership between Japanese driver Takeshi Kimura and Kessel Racing began at Le Mans in 2021 and has continued since then. This will be their fourth 24 Hours of Le Mans contended together. Takeshi Kimura made his debut at the French classic in 2019, the year he achieved his best result with a fifth-place finish. The 2025 edition will mark his seventh consecutive appearance at Le Mans and his sixth with Ferrari.
Daniel Serra, a Prancing Horse official driver since 2019, has made eight starts at the 24 Hours of Le Mans in the GT classes. He has secured two victories and two runner-up finishes in the GTE Pro class, establishing himself as one of the leading specialists in the discipline.
This will be his second time partnering with Japanese driver Takeshi Kimura at the French classic, following their tenth-place finish in LMGTE Am in 2023. The pair are also competing in the European Le Mans Series season together, having achieved a podium finish in the opening round at Barcelona.
British driver Casper Stevenson is the third member of the crew. He is making his second appearance at Le Mans after competing in the 2023 edition.
