Ferrari at Barcelona for the final round of the 2025 GTWC Europe
Maranello 09 October 2025
The Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya in Spain will host the last round of the GT World Challenge Europe – Endurance Cup from 10 to 12 October. Seven Ferrari 296 GT3s will compete on the 4.657-kilometre circuit at Montmeló, 20 kilometres north-east of Barcelona. The fifth and final round of the season will feature a packed 60-car grid for the 10th Festival de la Velocidad and will be decisive in determining the 2025 Endurance class champions as well as the overall combined standings. Competitors include the number 74 Ferrari 296 GT3 of Kessel Racing, still in contention in both the Drivers’ and Teams’ standings in the Bronze class. The three-hour race will kick off on Sunday at 3 p.m. local time.
Pro. Two Ferrari 296 GT3s will compete in the professional drivers’ class, both fielded by AF Corse – Francorchamps Motors. In the number 50 car, the season-long line-up remains unchanged, with Ferrari official drivers Antonio Fuoco and Arthur Leclerc joined by Eliseo Donno. In the number 51 – last year’s championship-winning entry – Vincent Abril and official driver Alessio Rovera will be partnered by fellow Ferrari driver Yifei Ye, this year’s 24 Hours of Le Mans winner in the number 83 AF Corse 499P. Ye replaces Ferrari driver Alessandro Pier Guidi, who will be competing in an IMSA race.
Bronze Cup. Four Ferrari 296 GT3s will compete in the class reserved for crews combining professional and gentleman drivers. The number 74 Kessel Racing Ferrari, crewed by Dustin Blattner, Conrad Laursen and Dennis Marschall, leads the standings on 82 points, 21 ahead of its closest challengers. The Swiss team has already claimed both the Sprint Cup and the combined title with Dustin Blattner and Dennis Marschall, and now aims to secure the Endurance Cup crown alongside Laursen, having lost their first chance to clinch it at the Nürburgring when they had to retire from the lead following an accident. Kessel Racing – which also leads the teams’ standings – will field a second car, the number 8, piloted by Nicolò Rosi, Niccolò Schirò and David Fumanelli, who achieved their best result of the season in the German leg with fifth in class.
Completing the Maranello manufacturer’s line-up, the number 52 296 GT3 of AF Corse – Francorchamps Motors will be driven by Jef and Louis Machiels alongside Tommaso Mosca, while the number 93 Ziggo Sport Tempesta entry – the reigning champion – features Eddie Cheever, Christopher Froggatt and Marco Pulcini.
Silver Cup. Rinaldi Racing will take part in the largest class on the grid, featuring no fewer than 19 crews, with the number 12 Ferrari 296 GT3 on the track with Rafael Duran, David Perel and Fabrizio Crestani, who missed the Nürburgring round.
The programme. Track activities commence on Friday, 10 October, with the Bronze Test from 4 to 5 p.m., followed by free practice on Saturday from 9 to 11 a.m. and pre-qualifying from 2.35 to 3.35 p.m. On Sunday, qualifying will take place from 10.25 to 11.25 a.m. with three 15-minute sessions – one per driver – to determine the grid for the three-hour race, which will kick off at 3 p.m. All times are local.
